How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to become part of a supportive school community where every member of staff plays an important role in helping pupils achieve their full potential.

    About the School

This specialist SEN school provides a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment for children and young people with additional needs. Through personalised support, specialist teaching, and a collaborative approach, the school empowers students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The administration team is central to the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, supporting staff, students, parents, and external professionals.

    The Role

As a School Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient running of the school's administrative functions, including:

    * Managing reception duties and acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external agencies.

    * Maintaining accurate pupil records and school databases.

    * Supporting attendance monitoring and reporting processes.

    * Managing correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries.

    * Assisting with admissions administration and student documentation.

    * Coordinating meetings, appointments, and school events.

    * Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks.

    * Processing invoices, orders, and general office administration.

    * Ensuring compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and school policies.

    * Maintaining confidential records and documentation accurately.

    School Administrator Requirements

    The successful candidate will have:

    * Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within an education or school environment.

    * Strong organisational and time management skills.

    * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    * A professional and welcoming approach.

    * Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

    * The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

    * High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

    * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience with school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar platforms would be advantageous but is not essential.

    What We Offer

    * Competitive salary of £26,000–£32,000 per annum.

    * Permanent, full-time employment.

    * Supportive and collaborative working environment.

    * Ongoing professional development opportunities.

    * The opportunity to work within a specialist SEN setting.

    * A rewarding role contributing to the success of students and staff.
