Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on structural steel sections and assemblies.
Carry out vertical fillet and butt welds to specified welding procedures and standards.
Read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings.
Prepare materials and components prior to welding.
Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Work closely with fabricators and workshop personnel to meet production targets.
Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
Adhere to all workshop health and safety procedures.
Requirements
Essential
Proven experience as a MAG Welder within a structural steel fabrication environment.
Ability to produce high-quality vertical fillet and butt welds.
Competent in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.
Strong understanding of welding symbols and specifications.
Experience working with structural steel sections and heavy fabrication.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable
Relevant welding qualifications or coding certificates.
Experience working to BS EN welding standards.
Overhead crane or forklift experience.
Previous experience in a high-volume fabrication workshop
Salary description
£25.00 - £27.00 per hour
