An established and highly respected independent planning consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Town Planner to join its growing team in Derbyshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planning professional looking to take on a varied project portfolio, work closely with clients and stakeholders, and play a key role in delivering successful planning outcomes across a range of development sectors.
The Role
As a Senior / Principal Town Planner, you will:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects from inception through to determination.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting planning statements.
- Provide strategic planning advice to a wide range of private and public sector clients.
- Liaise with local authorities, consultees, landowners, and development teams.
- Undertake site appraisals and planning due diligence exercises.
- Support business development activities and contribute to client relationship management.
- Mentor and support junior planning team members where appropriate.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- MRTPI status (or be working towards chartership with relevant experience).
- Significant experience within either a planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
