How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Customer Solution Architect

    Customer Solution Architect
    Location: West Midlands (Hybrid working)
    Type: Permanent

We are looking for a commercially aware and consultative Customer Solution Architect (CSA) to take full ownership of solution design throughout the pre-sales lifecycle.

Working closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, and Delivery teams, you will act as the technical lead and trusted solution owner across client engagements, from early qualification and discovery through to handover into delivery.
A key part of the role is developing a deep understanding of each client’s business, the challenges they face, and the outcomes they are trying to achieve. You will combine this insight with a strong understanding of TXP’s capabilities to design solutions that go beyond expectations.

You will bring experience in at least one of the following sectors: Financial Services, Insurance, or Public Sector, allowing you to engage credibly with clients and shape solutions that reflect their regulatory, operational, and strategic priorities.

You will also contribute to the ongoing development of TXP’s propositions, ensuring they remain relevant, differentiated, and commercially strong.

    Living Our Values (CARES)

Client Focus: Put the client at the centre of every solution, ensuring designs are grounded in real business needs and outcomes.
Adaptability: Respond quickly to changing client needs, market conditions, and emerging technologies.
Responsibility: Take ownership of solution direction, ensuring clarity around scope, risks, and delivery feasibility.
Excellence: Maintain high standards across all pre-sales outputs and continuously improve ways of working.
Success: Ensure what is sold is delivered successfully, for both the client and TXP.
    Key Responsibilities

    1. Understanding the Client and Their Challenges

Build a strong understanding of each client’s business, operating environment, and key challenges.
Lead discovery sessions and workshops to identify root causes, not just surface requirements.
Apply sector knowledge (Financial Services, Insurance, Public Sector) to shape relevant solutions.
Maintain deep knowledge of TXP’s services and capabilities and apply these effectively in solution design.
    2. Solution Ownership & Design

Own the solution across the full pre-sales lifecycle, acting as the technical authority.
Design practical, commercially viable solutions using TXP’s full capability portfolio.
Ensure solutions are clearly scoped, realistic, and deliverable.
Support governance processes and proactively manage risks and issues.
    3. Client Engagement & Solution Conversations

Lead client discussions, workshops, and solution conversations.
Act as the main technical contact during pre-sales engagements.
Present solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused language.
    4. Pre-Sales Delivery

Produce high-quality content for proposals, Statements of Work (SoWs), presentations, and RFP responses.
Work with Sales and Delivery teams to validate scope, risks, and delivery approach.
Manage multiple opportunities at the same time in a structured way.
    5. Transition to Delivery

Own the handover from pre-sales into delivery, ensuring clarity and completeness.
Engage delivery teams during late-stage pre-sales to confirm feasibility and readiness.
Provide clear documentation and briefings to support successful delivery.
Remain available during early delivery phases to clarify solution intent and scope.
    6. Proposition Development

Contribute to improving and refining TXP’s existing propositions.
Help develop new offerings aligned to market demand.
Ensure propositions remain competitive and relevant across target sectors.
Create reusable assets, templates, and frameworks to improve pre-sales consistency and quality.
    Skills & Experience
    Essential Experience

Experience in a Solution Architect, Pre-Sales Architect, or Technical Consultant role within IT services or consultancy.
Strong track record in pre-sales, including solution design and proposal development.
Experience working with clients in Financial Services, Insurance, or Public Sector.
Proven experience leading solution design across the full pre-sales lifecycle.
Good knowledge of relevant technology areas such as:
    Cloud platforms
    Microsoft technologies
    Software engineering
    Integration
    SaaS
    Data and AI
    Skills & Behaviours

Strong curiosity and structured thinking when understanding client problems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
Confident stakeholder management, including engagement at senior levels.
High emotional intelligence and strong relationship-building skills.
Commercial awareness with a practical, delivery-focused mindset.
Comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced, multi-opportunity environment.
Interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI and automation.
    Desirable

Experience contributing to propositions or go-to-market strategies.
Experience across multiple sectors (Financial Services, Insurance, Public Sector).
Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for proposal or documentation creation.
Understanding of delivery methodologies such as Agile or PRINCE2.
    Education

Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Certifications such as TOGAF, Azure/AWS, ITIL, PRINCE2, or Agile are beneficial but not essential.

    Benefits:

25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
An additional day of paid leave for your birthday (or Christmas eve).
Salary sacrifice, matched employer contributed pension (4%).
    Life assurance (3x).
