How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

Working closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and operational teams, you will help deliver critical infrastructure projects where precision, accountability, and attention to detail are essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Administer NEC contracts and provide contractual support to project teams.

    * Prepare valuations, applications for payment, change management documentation, and final accounts.

    * Manage compensation events, early warnings, and contract communications.

    * Support cost reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial control processes.

    * Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor commercial management.

    * Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.

    * Produce accurate and timely commercial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

    * Build effective working relationships across project teams, clients, and supply chain partners.

    * Ensure commercial activities align with the requirements of highly regulated and safety-critical project environments.

    Candidate Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, infrastructure, engineering, rail, utilities, energy, or other regulated sectors.

    * Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC forms of contract.

    * Experience working on projects where compliance, safety, and quality standards are critical to project success.

    * Knowledge of Mechanical Services, HVAC systems, or MEP installations would be highly advantageous.

    * Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    * Self-motivated, ambitious, and committed to ongoing professional development.

    * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience.

    Why Apply?

    * Work on prestigious rail and safety-critical infrastructure projects across London and the South East.

    * Join a business with a strong pipeline of long-term projects in highly regulated sectors.

    * Gain exposure to technically complex engineering and mechanical services packages.

    * Develop your expertise within NEC contracting environments.

    * Benefit from genuine career progression opportunities and structured professional development.

You’ll be someone who takes ownership, enjoys working collaboratively, and is keen to build a long-term career delivering critical infrastructure projects that have a lasting impact.

If you’re looking to take the next step in your commercial career and contribute to the successful delivery of some of the UK’s most important engineering and rail projects, we’d be keen to hear from you
