How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HGV Class 1 Driver

    Location: Bootle, Merseyside
    Salary: From £34,320 per annum
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Our client is a well-established and growing organisation seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join their team based in Bootle.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver looking for a long-term position with a stable employer offering overtime opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out collections and deliveries to customer sites throughout the UK.

    * Ensure all transport activities are completed in line with current legislation and company procedures.

    * Complete daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects promptly.

    * Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.

    * Ensure all relevant paperwork and records are completed accurately.

    * Assist with loading, unloading and general site duties when required.

    * Follow all company health and safety procedures at all times.

    * Represent the business professionally when interacting with customers and suppliers.

    Working Hours

    * Minimum 40 hours per week.

    * Monday to Friday.

    * Overtime available during evenings and weekends.

    * Regular nights out may be required depending on business needs.

    Requirements

    * Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

    * Driver CPC qualification.

    * Strong understanding of driver hours and transport regulations.

    * ADR licence desirable but not essential.

    * Previous experience in a similar driving role preferred.
