How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    St Albans, Hertfordshire

    Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

    Contract: Full-Time | Temp to Perm

    Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)

    Salary: £180 - £250 per day (Temp) | £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (Permanent) + Benefits

    Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people?

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in St Albans supporting pupils aged 5–16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), alongside additional needs including ADHD and SEMH.

    This is an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing, child-centred environment where every student is supported through personalised learning programmes, therapeutic approaches, and strong pastoral care.

    About the Role

    As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of learners with a range of additional needs. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, Therapists, SENCOs, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure pupils achieve both academically and personally.

    The successful candidate will be teaching small classes and helping students develop confidence, independence, emotional regulation, and a love of learning.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

    * Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and associated learning difficulties

    * Develop personalised learning strategies aligned to EHCP outcomes

    * Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

    * Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress

    * Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

    * Work collaboratively with parents, therapists, and external agencies

    * Contribute to annual reviews and EHCP processes

    Requirements

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

    * Experience working within SEN, SEND, SEMH, or specialist education settings desirable

    * Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and social-emotional needs

    * Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills

    * Passion for supporting vulnerable learners

    * Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
