How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Computer Science Teacher

    Location: Stevenage area
    Start Date: September 2026
    Salary: MPS/UPS (M1 - UPS3)
    Contract: Full-time, Permanent

    Academics are working on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in the Stevenage area to recruit a dedicated and innovative Computer Science Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to join a supportive and forward-thinking school with a strong commitment to high standards, student progress, and staff development. The successful candidate will be joining a well-resourced department where Computer Science is a valued and growing subject across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

    The Role

    As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for:

    Planning and delivering engaging and challenging Computer Science lessons across KS3-KS5
    Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
    Teaching computational thinking, programming, and digital literacy skills
    Monitoring, assessing, and tracking student progress in line with school policies
    Contributing to curriculum development within the department
    Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom engagementThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
    A strong subject knowledge in Computer Science/ICT
    Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
    The ability to inspire and motivate students
    Strong classroom management skills
