How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Support Administrator - 7 month contract - Portsmouth Naval Base, Hampshire - £17.87 ph UMB or £13.45 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

    The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

    The Role

    To Assist with Planning operations which will include taking a proactive role with the use of the Work Management Tool. To ensure all pre-requisites for the Yellow board are achieved by liaising with the Production Planners. These duties include but not limited to attaching documents, creating work packs, checking/updating locations, document references and work instructions, ensuring suitability to complete the task. All documents should be ready for production and controls in place according to the current process.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Not limited to…

    Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure that all relevant information is gathered for Production planners to allow for planning activities.
    Ensure all pre-requisites are met to allow Service Orders to be progressed from the Yellow Board to the Green board on the Work Management Tool. This includes ensuring all service orders have a recordable flag, locations etc.
    Extracting third party documents e.g. Wind Chill and IETM and attaching them to relevant Service orders as indicated within the WMT.
    Create work packs ready for production this includes but not limited to printing drawings documents, reference material etc.
    Confirming work instructions have the correct pre-requisites to complete the task with all correct document references including clear instructions.
    Creating work specific Production Reports, with all required information for Production Team to complete.
    Assist all areas of the Planning Team as requested by the Planning Operations Manager.
    Action any Red Board issues that are relevant e.g. Missing Information or advancing to correct issue board.
    Action any Pink board issues that are relevant e.g. where documents missing from service orders.
    Create and maintain with guidance any work scope spreadsheets as deemed necessary.
    Raise Change Request Notifications as directed.

    What are BAE Systems looking for from you?

    PC literate and competent with Microsoft Excel/Access and able to use an ERP system without supervision to undertake the planning role.
    A good knowledge of Warship business.
    Logical, analytical and structured approach to problem solving
    Self management and motivation to identify and deliver tasks within acceptable time frames with minimal guidance and supervision
    Able to support other team members and monitor own progress against planned delivery and quality targets and to contribute to continuous improvement of the planning function.
    Awareness of general H&S/Environmental regulations and safe working practices
