How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Social Worker – Safeguarding and Support Team | Herefordshire County Council

    Team: Safeguarding and Support

    Contract: Permanent

    Hours: 37 hours per week

    Salary: £35,235 – £39,513 per annum + ( £5,000 market rate supplement + £10,000 welcome payment (subject to guidance) + full benefits package)

    Location: Herefordshire (Hereford, Leominster or Ross-On-Wye)

    Herefordshire County Council are looking for experienced Social Workers to join their Safeguarding and Support Team.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    Undertake child and family assessments, identifying needs and risks in line with statutory guidance

    Develop and implement care and support plans to ensure the best outcomes for children

    Manage complex caseloads, including safeguarding and child protection cases

    Prepare and present reports for court proceedings and multi-agency meetings

    Work in partnership with families, schools, health professionals and partner agencies

    Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory duties

    Requirements:

    SWE Registration

    Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)

    Post-qualified experience in safeguarding/child protection work

    Strong assessment, planning and risk management skills

    Experience of working within a multi-agency setting and attending court

    A proactive, child-centred approach with resilience and flexibility
