Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

Our client BAE Systems, a prestigious organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Preston on an initial 12-month contract basis. This role requires travel to Preston maximum 3 times a month with travel to other UK sites occasionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing and developing electrical systems and components for defence applications
Ensuring that all electrical designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations
Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
Reviewing and approving technical documentation, including schematics, drawings, and reports
Providing technical guidance and expertise to junior engineers and project teams
Conducting site visits to oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems
Identifying and mitigating risks associated with electrical design and implementation
Produce technical specifications and prepare detailed layouts and site plans using appropriate word processing and REVIT software
Prepare concept designs and options studies that will form the basis of further development work
oversee and manage the work of sub contractors

Job Requirements:

Experience in electrical engineering within the construction and/or building services sectors
Proficiency in electrical design and Revit
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering
Ideally CIBSE or IET chartered
