How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The GCSE English Teacher  Role:

Chichester College Group is seeking an engaging and resilient GCSE English Teacher to deliver aspirational, purposeful English lessons to students re?sitting their GCSE, primarily those studying Construction and related vocational programmes.

GCSE English is a key progression hurdle for construction learners, and we are looking for someone who genuinely understands the challenge this presents and is motivated by helping students overcome it. This role is ideally suited to an English specialist who can connect with vocational learners, build trust quickly, and deliver engaging, relevant lessons that clearly demonstrate how English skills support life, work, and long?term career progression within industry.

In this role, you will teach GCSE English to students who have already completed the curriculum and are working to improve their grade to at least a 4. Many learners may arrive with low confidence, mixed previous experiences of English, or anxiety around resits, so you will need to be able to motivate, challenge and re?ignite ambition. You will plan and deliver exciting, challenging lessons aligned to the exam board specification, specifically designed to meet the needs of re?sit learners. Teaching will predominantly involve construction students, requiring you to adapt content so that it feels practical, meaningful and clearly linked to their vocational studies.

Delivering training sessions to a range of customers and clients either onsite or at employers’ premises.

Liaising with other staff as appropriate to ensure a high standard of learning.

    Providing effective feedback to clients.

Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.

Our ideal GCSE English Teacher should have the following skills and experience:

Relevant GCSE / Functional Skills / ESOL teaching and assessing experience in related subject

Knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 applications

An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups

Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
