How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teaching Assistant
    Erdington, Birmingham (accessible via public transport)
    £110 per day
    Start Date: ASAP
    Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm
    Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)

    Long Term Futures is looking to appoint a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Erdington. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them access education and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

    The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with a variety of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and associated learning needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students throughout the school day and helping them reach their individual targets.

    About the Role
    Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
    * Providing tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
    * Assisting students to engage with learning activities and classroom routines
    * Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
    * Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and behaviour support plans
    * Encouraging independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom
    * Supporting students during transitions, breaktimes, and structured interventions
    * Recording observations and providing feedback to teaching staff
    * Contributing to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

    Ideal Candidate Profile
    * Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
    * Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional learning needs
    * Patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
    * Confident supporting students who may present with challenging behaviour
    * A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning and development
    * Reliable and committed to a long-term, temp-to-perm opportunity
    * Strong communication and teamwork skills
