How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Mechanical Site Manager – Water & Wastewater Treatment Birmingham (Site-Based with Hybrid Working)

    About the Company

Our client is an award-winning provider of proprietary technologies for cost-efficient and environmentally friendly water and wastewater treatment, specialising in innovative solutions for industrial and municipal clients. Their range of best-in-class technologies have been deployed at over 100 sites globally, and the business has achieved exceptional growth year-on-year- making this an exciting time to join a company with real momentum behind it.

    The Role

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to oversee the installation and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment systems on site. You'll be the key point of contact between the site team, supply chain, and the wider project management function - ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the high standards our client's customers expect.

This role offers a genuine hybrid working arrangement: 3 days on site, 2 days working from home.

    Key Responsibilities

Managing day-to-day mechanical installation activities on water/wastewater treatment projects
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour to maintain programme and quality
Ensuring full compliance with CDM regulations, site-specific health & safety requirements, and environmental obligations
Liaising with the client, design team, and commissioning engineers throughout the construction phase
Producing and maintaining RAMS, site diaries, progress reports, and O&M documentation
Supporting the commissioning phase, working alongside process and commissioning engineers to bring plant into operation
Identifying and managing technical queries, RFIs, and variation events
    What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on water sector or process/industrial projects
Strong understanding of mechanical pipework, pumping systems, and associated plant — ideally within a treatment works environment
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold Card), and first aid certification
Comfortable working with NEC or similar forms of contract
Strong communication skills - able to manage multiple stakeholders and represent the business professionally on site
Self-motivated and organised, capable of managing remote workdays effectively
    What's on Offer

    Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
Hybrid working - 3 days site, 2 days from home
The chance to work on technically interesting, high-impact water infrastructure projects
A growing business with a strong pipeline and a genuine reputation for innovation in the sector
    Salary description

    £380.00 - £420.00 per day
