How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Press Brake Setter Operator – Progression Into CAD

    Location: Leicester
    Pay: £17.00 – £18.50 per hour DOE
    Hours: Day shift
    Job Type: Permanent

    Are you an experienced Press Brake Setter Operator who wants to move beyond the machine and develop into CAD?

    This is a rare opportunity for a skilled press brake setter to join a specialist Leicester manufacturer offering genuine progression into SolidWorks/CAD work. You’ll start in a hands-on folding role, but for the right person, the long-term aim is to develop you into a more technical position involving drawings, programming and CAD support.

    So, if you’re good on the press brake but don’t want to be doing exactly the same job in five years’ time, this could be the move that gives you a proper next step.

    The company produces high-quality, bespoke metalwork for premium retail, interiors and display projects. The work is varied, the finish matters, and you’ll be working in an environment where skill and attention to detail are properly valued.

    The Role

    You will initially be responsible for:

    * Setting and operating Amada press brake machines

    * Folding sheet metal components to engineering drawings

    * Producing varied, bespoke and project-based work

    * Checking your own work using measuring equipment

    * Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards

    * Supporting the wider manufacturing team when required

    As you develop, there is scope to get involved with:

    * SolidWorks/CAD

    * Drawing interpretation and amendments

    * Programming support

    * Technical planning

    * Laser cutting support, if you have or want to build experience in this area

    What We’re Looking For

    You must have:

    * Experience setting and operating press brake machines

    * Strong folding experience

    * Ability to read engineering drawings

    * Good attention to detail

    * A reliable, hands-on attitude

    * An interest in developing into CAD or more technical work

    It would be beneficial if you have experience with:

    * Amada press brake machines

    * SolidWorks or other CAD software

    * Laser cutting machinery

    * Sheet metal fabrication

    * Bespoke or low-volume manufacturing

    Why Apply?

    * Genuine progression from press brake into CAD

    * Chance to develop SolidWorks skills

    * Pay above the local average

    * Varied, high-quality project work

    * Work with Amada machinery

    * Permanent day shift role

    * Join a specialist manufacturer where this is a career move, not just another machine job

    Apply

    If you’re an experienced Press Brake Setter Operator who wants a proper route into CAD, apply today and we’ll be in touch to discuss the role in more detail
