How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Learning Support Assistant

Could you be the calm, consistent support a psychology graduate can bring to pupils who need a little more from school each day? Are you looking for a secondary SEN role that gives you meaningful experience before moving into educational or clinical psychology?

    *** Learning Support Assistant
    *** September 2026 – July 2027
    *** £85 - £102 per day
*** Secondary school based in Willenhall
*** 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs

    The Role:
Support pupils with additional needs through a mixture of 1:1 work and small-group intervention across the school day. You will help students stay engaged in lessons, follow routines, access learning more confidently, and build positive relationships with staff and peers while working closely with teachers and the SENCO to support progress.

    The Candidate:
You are calm, observant, and able to build trust through consistency and clear communication. You want practical school-based experience, you can stay patient in a busy secondary setting, and you are interested in how targeted support helps young people feel more secure, more engaged, and more able to learn. This role is a strong fit for a psychology graduate who wants relevant experience before moving into educational psychology.

    Requirements
    • Degree – A 2:2 or above in Psychology or a related subject.
    • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
    • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
    • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
    • Career Goals – A desire to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.

    The School:
This secondary school based in Willenhall offers the chance to build valuable SEN experience in a setting where structure, consistency, and purposeful support matter. You will work closely with teaching staff and wider professionals in a role that gives you direct exposure to day-to-day SEND provision, practical intervention, and the strategies schools use to help pupils with additional needs access learning more successfully.

    How to Apply
Apply today with your CV to be considered for this Learning Support Assistant role. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to discuss next steps and arrange interview. Early applications are encouraged, as the school may appoint before the closing date.
