How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We have a new opportunity for a part time Cleaner at our Extra Care Scheme, Castle Ham Lodge in Okehampton.

    As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our residents. Working as part of a supportive team, you will ensure that all communal areas and offices are consistently kept to a high standard. This role also calls for a sensitive and respectful approach when working within a community of older and potentially vulnerable residents.

    Hours of work:

    This is a part-time, permanent position offering 7 hours per week.

    One working day is fixed (Wednesday)
    The second day is flexible, to be agreed between Monday and Friday
    Hours will be worked between 8am and 4pm.
    Key responsibilities:

    To work as part of a team to ensure that communal areas and offices are clean and tidy
    To maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and ensure they are stored securely according to COSHH guidelines
    To wash paintwork and clean windows and doors as required
    Following and promoting policies and procedures, with particular attention to standards of customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity.
    About you:

    Experience of cleaning in a professional or commercial setting
    Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and COSHH guidelines
