How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant (Supply) - Chesterfield Area
    Full-Time | Ad Hoc Supply Cover | EYFS - Key Stage 2
    Start Date: September 2026

    Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time supply basis across a variety of primary schools in the Chesterfield area from September 2026.

    This exciting opportunity is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants who enjoy the variety and flexibility that supply work offers. You will provide ad hoc cover where needed, supporting pupils and teachers across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 settings.

    The Role

    As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of year groups.
    Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development.
    Provide classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
    Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
    Help maintain a positive, inclusive and productive learning environment.
    Adapt quickly to different school settings and classroom routines.What We're Looking For

    To be successful in this role, you will:

    Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
    Be confident supporting children with SEND, including those with additional learning, behavioural or communication needs.
    Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Be flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different school environments.
    Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (desirable but not essential).
    Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.For this position, practical experience is considered more important than qualifications alone.
