How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Maths & Science Teacher
    Location: Brent, HA9
    Contract: Long-term/Permanent
    Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
    Start Date: September
    Commutable From: Harrow, Ealing, Edgware, Watford, Wembley

    The Opportunity:
    Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Maths & Science Teacher to join a specialist school in the Lambeth area.
    The provision supports pupils across Key Stage 1 - Key Stage 4 with a range of complex needs, including SEMH, Autism (ASD), trauma-related needs, and communication difficulties. The school adopts a trauma-centred therapeutic education model, recognising that positive relationships, emotional regulation, and wellbeing are fundamental to successful learning outcomes.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver engaging Maths and Science lessons while supporting pupils to rebuild confidence, develop resilience, and achieve meaningful qualifications.

    Your Key Responsibilities:
    * Plan and deliver differentiated Maths and Science lessons for pupils with SEN
    * Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets and individual educational needs
    * Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support engagement and progress
    * Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
    * Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
    * Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where necessary
    * Work collaboratively with therapists, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and support staff
    * Prepare pupils for GCSEs, Functional Skills, and other appropriate qualifications

    Requirements:
    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    * Experience teaching Maths and/or Science at secondary level
    * Experience working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, or trauma-related needs
    * Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice
    * Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
    * Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic education (desirable)
    * Commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
