How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you will be responsible for delivering consultancy services from project inception through to completion, ensuring exceptional client service and technical excellence throughout.

Alongside project delivery, you will contribute to the strategic growth of the business through business development, client management, team leadership, and the development of junior professionals.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project & Client Leadership

    * Act as the lead point of contact for clients across multiple commissions.

    * Take responsibility for the successful delivery and quality of consultancy services.

    * Ensure projects are delivered on time, within agreed parameters, and in accordance with contractual and professional obligations.

    * Manage internal resources and project teams to achieve successful outcomes.

    * Drive client satisfaction and secure repeat business opportunities.

    Business Development & Growth

    * Lead and support bid submissions and tender opportunities.

    * Develop and maintain key client relationships.

    * Generate new business opportunities and secure commissions from both existing and prospective clients.

    * Prepare fee proposals and contribute to commercial decision-making.

    * Represent the consultancy at industry events, networking functions, and professional forums.

    * Support the implementation of the company's strategic growth plans.

    Leadership & Team Development

    * Mentor and develop junior team members.

    * Support staff through professional qualifications, including APC pathways where applicable.

    * Act as Supervisor/Counsellor for APC candidates.

    * Contribute to recruitment, retention, and talent development initiatives.

    * Champion best practice, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the business.

    Commercial & Operational Responsibilities

    * Contribute to the profitability and performance of the business.

    * Work towards agreed annual fee income targets.

    * Support monthly invoicing and debt recovery processes.

    * Assist in maintaining and improving quality management systems.

    * Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation and professional standards, including the RICS Code of Conduct.

    About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced construction consultancy professional with strong client-facing skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for developing people.

    You will likely possess:

    * Proven experience within a construction consultancy environment.

    * Strong project delivery and client management capabilities.

    * Experience leading teams and mentoring junior professionals.

    * A track record of winning work and developing client relationships.

    * Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

    * Professional membership (RICS or equivalent) or working towards chartered status.

    What's on Offer?

    - Opportunity to join a growing and respected consultancy.

    - Significant autonomy and influence within the business.

    - Diverse and challenging project portfolio.

    - Clear pathway for career progression.

    - Supportive and collaborative working environment.
