How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HEAD OF SALES & MARKETING

    West Midlands

    Up to £75,000 + Performance Related Bonus

    A long-established and highly successful West Midlands manufacturer is seeking an experienced Head of Sales & Marketing to lead its commercial strategy and drive the next phase of growth.
    Operating at the forefront of a highly specialised manufacturing sector, the company supplies customers across a diverse range of industries and has built a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise and customer service over many years. This is a pivotal leadership role offering significant influence over the future direction of the business.

    The Opportunity
    Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of all sales, marketing and commercial activities. You will review and optimise the existing commercial infrastructure, develop and implement growth strategies, lead the commercial team and identify new opportunities across both existing and emerging markets.
    This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on business development and will suit an individual who enjoys both developing commercial strategy and winning new business.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop and deliver the company's sales and marketing strategy to drive profitable growth.

    * Lead and develop the commercial team, setting clear objectives and performance standards.

    * Identify and secure new business opportunities across existing and new markets.

    * Build strong relationships with key customers, prospects and industry stakeholders.

    * Manage sales pipelines, forecasting and CRM activity.

    * Drive digital marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and generate qualified leads.

    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.

    * Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions.

    * Work closely with senior leadership to support the company's long-term growth objectives

    About You:

    * Proven track record of delivering sales growth within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    * Experience selling outsourced manufacturing solutions, engineering services or technical products.

    * Strong business development and customer acquisition expertise.

    * Experience leading and developing commercial teams.

    * Background within industrial sectors such as aerospace, medical, defence, rail, power generation or similar.

    * Mechanical engineering knowledge would be advantageous.
