How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SRT Marine Systems plc (SRT) is a global leader in maritime domain awareness technologies, delivering systems and products that enhance maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and operational performance worldwide.

®em-trak is SRT's internationally recognized AIS and marine communications brand, with a global network and a significant installed base across leisure, commercial, and government markets. Our portfolio includes AIS Class A and B transceivers, small vessel trackers and integrated VHF/AIS systems, with continued expansion into a broader connected marine ecosystem. The ®em-trak products work hand-in-hand with our next generation of maritime domain awareness technologies "MDA", products, and systems that significantly enhance security, safety, environmental protection, and sustainability. Our customers are global and range from the largest national coast guards to individual vessel owners.

SRT is an exciting company where high-quality results are rewarded. We are ambitious and constantly seek to innovate in order to deliver better products and services to our customers. We strive to make SRT a rewarding and challenging place to work, where talented, hard-working individuals have the opportunity to make a real impact across the marine industry.

As we continue our growth, we are seeking an experienced Installation Support Engineer. This is a truly progressive role where you, as an individual, can and will make a huge impact on the future growth of the ®em-trak brand!

*Please note - the role of Installation Support Engineer is both office-based support; and international travel in support of our customers (sometimes with short notice)

The Installation Support Engineer is responsible for providing practical marine electronics installation expertise across both ®em-trak products and systems transceiver deployments globally.

The role acts as the internal authority on real-world transceiver installation best practice, supporting systems projects, assisting dealers and end users with more complex installation requirements, and helping develop robust installation standards, guidance and training materials to ensure reliable long-term performance in both leisure and commercial marine environments.

Key Responsibilities Installation Support Engineer (not exhaustive):

Define and maintain installation standards and best practices for transceiver deployments across both ®em-trak products and systems projects
Produce clear installation guidance, visual reference materials and technical documentation to support our customers
Deliver installation guidance and technical training to our partners where required
Support installation governance, evidence capture and deployment sign-off processes
Review and validate installation quality, identifying risks, recurring issues and improvement opportunities
Provide remote and on-site deployment support including FAT/SAT activities where required
Assist with troubleshooting installation, RF, GNSS, power and connectivity-related issues
Feed field observations, recurring issues and lessons learned back into Engineering and Product teams

Requirements - Installation Support Engineer (not exhaustive):

Strong marine electronics installation experience. Marine electronics or electrical qualifications such as AMEI (Advanced Marine Electronics Installer) or BMET (British Marine Electrical Technician) are beneficial, however strong practical field experience will be considered equally important, and candidates may be qualified through experience rather than formal certification
Practical understanding of AIS, GNSS, VHF and marine RF systems
    Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability
Ability to work directly with customers, installers and project teams

Benefits Package - Installation Support Engineer

    Excellent salary and package
    Private health care
    Career Development opportunities

SRT Marine Systems plc are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive working environment for all employees and actively encourage applications from all sectors of the community
