About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a busy, forward-thinking manufacturing site in the L34 area.
This is a hands-on, varied role supporting the smooth operation of high-speed production lines. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a range of machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with schedules and quality standards.
* Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising production downtime.
* Troubleshoot electrical, and pneumatic faults on a range of production machinery.
* Record all maintenance activities accurately using job sheets or CMMS where applicable.
* Follow health & safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out, permit-to-work, and PPE use.
* Work collaboratively with production and warehouse teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
* Escalate unresolved faults or recurring issues to the Lead Engineer
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including tools and spare parts areas.
* Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, and small engineering projects when required.
* Participate in shift handovers and communicate clearly with incoming/outgoing team members.
* Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to reduce downtime, waste, or inefficiency.
About You:
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
* Proven experience in both, mainly electrical and mechanical maintenance
* Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
* Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Flexible approach to working shifts and overtime during busy periods
Hours and rates
* Monday to Friday
* Rotating 2 weeks of 6am - 2pm and 1 week of 2pm - 10pm
* Rate 42k salary
