How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position Overview

Branta is seeking a highly skilled Shift Engineer to support the Data Centre Management Team in delivering a customer-focused, cost-effective service. You will maintain critical building plant, execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and respond to reactive faults or site engineering emergencies to ensure zero downtime. This role requires a calm manner under pressure, a flexible attitude to overtime for holiday cover, and the ability to pass a strict security check.

    Key Responsibilities

Critical Maintenance: Carry out routine PPM and reactive maintenance on building infrastructure, complex mechanical/electrical plant, and dual-fed critical systems.

Emergency Response: Diagnose faults and respond rapidly to Building Management System (BMS) alarms, executing emergency repairs and escalating hazards as needed.

Safety & Subcontractor Compliance: Issue and manage Permits to Work. Prepare and adhere to RAMS, follow industry ACOPs, and supervise on-site engineering subcontractors.

Reporting & Logistics: Maintain regular, accurate updates in QHSE logbooks, complete shift handovers, manage suitable plant spares, and log data via Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Client Relations: Deliver exceptional customer service, presenting a professional image while interacting directly with client management and visitors.
    Training & Qualifications (Essential):

Formally trained in electrical services maintenance.

    City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 (or later equivalent) and 18th Edition.

Up-to-date knowledge of BMS, ACOPs, fire/environmental systems, and health & safety regulations.

Desirable: Formal H&S training (IOSH) and Safe Operation of High Voltage Equipment (S4).
    Experience Parameters:

Essential: Proven track record in critical environment facilities maintenance (UPS systems, standby generators, dual-fed systems, and electrical testing).

Sound experience writing RAMS and meeting legal health and safety obligations.

Desirable: Appointed HV/AP with switching schedule experience, and prior data centre exposure.
    To Apply

If you are an experienced critical environments engineer looking for a structured role with an explicit, financially incentivized pathway to HVAP status, please submit your updated CV today
