How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title – Flexo Web Machine Operator (Printer / Print Minder)

    Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
    Salary: £32,844 - £41,005 (£16.30 - £20.35 per hour)
    Shift: Various shift patterns available

    Job Role of the Flexo Web Machine Operator

    An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Flexo Web Machine Operator to join a growing and highly respected packaging manufacturer. Operating from a modern production facility with significant investment in printing and finishing technology, this business offers an excellent environment for skilled print professionals looking to further develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

    You will be responsible for the efficient setup, operation, and optimisation of flexographic web printing machinery, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and OEE objectives are consistently achieved. This role will suit a motivated operator who takes pride in producing high-quality work while driving continuous improvements across the manufacturing process.

    Sector – Packaging Manufacturing

    Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Flexo Web Machine Operator

    Previous experience operating flexographic web printing machinery.

    Desirable Requirements for the Flexo Web Machine Operator

    More than 2 years' experience within web flexographic printing.

    Experience within packaging or corrugated manufacturing environments.

    Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and 5S principles.

    Shift Patterns Available

    Option A – Double Day Shift (9-Day Fortnight)

    Early Shift: 05:30 – 13:45 Monday to Friday

    Late Shift: 13:45 – 00:00 Monday to Wednesday, 13:45 – 23:45 Thursday

    Friday afternoons not required on late shift week

    30-minute unpaid lunch

    Option B – 3-Day Week

    06:00 – 18:00 Monday to Wednesday

    06:00 – 18:00 Thursday to Saturday

    Occasional night shifts available: 18:00 – 06:00
