Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to support a major highways programme focused on the adoption of historic development sites and the progression of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highways professional with strong technical knowledge and experience working within a Local Highway Authority, consultancy, or highways development environment.
### Key Responsibilities
Lead the adoption of historic development sites under Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
Manage technical reviews and ensure compliance with highway standards.
Liaise with developers, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
Review engineering drawings, specifications and supporting documentation.
Coordinate site inspections and monitor progress towards adoption.
Provide technical advice and support on highways development matters.
Assist in clearing a backlog of historic sites and progressing schemes to completion.
### Essential Requirements
Significant experience dealing with Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
Strong understanding of highway adoption processes and development control.
Experience working within highways engineering, transport planning or civil engineering.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits.
### Desirable
Previous Local Authority highways experience.
Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
