Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher with experience or a strong interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently seeking an enthusiastic SEN Primary Teacher to work within Key Stage 2 in supportive and inclusive school settings across Barking & Dagenham.

The Role
As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, adapted teaching across KS2, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties.
You will work in settings that prioritise personalised learning, structured support, and positive behaviour approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEN
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Use a range of strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
Implement and contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in line with individual needs
Promote positive behaviour strategies and consistent routines
Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers
Contribute to the wider school community where required
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE (or equivalent)
Experience teaching in a primary setting (KS2 experience desirable)
SEN experience (in mainstream or specialist settings) is highly desirable
Strong understanding of SEN needs, including ASD and ADHD
Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to teaching
Strong communication and teamwork skills
