How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor
    £60,000 - £70,000 + Progression + Autonomy + High-End Residential Projects
    Crawley (Commutable from: Horsham, Reigate, Redhill, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Gatwick, Dorking, Guildford, Epsom, Sutton)

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing residential contractor delivering exceptional bespoke homes, large-scale renovations, and premium residential developments across Surrey and Sussex. Offering genuine autonomy, progression, and exposure to the full commercial lifecycle, this role provides the chance to become a key figure within an expanding business.

    Are you a Quantity Surveyor with experience working on? Do you want the opportunity to take ownership of the commercial function, broaden your estimating and procurement experience, and progress your career within a growing business?

    The company delivers bespoke new-build homes, luxury refurbishments, large extensions, and premium residential projects ranging from £200k to £2m. Having doubled in size over recent years, they have built a strong reputation through repeat business, architect referrals, and exceptional project delivery. With continued growth plans, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team.

    You will work closely with the company owner, taking responsibility for the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account. The role will involve procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, contract administration, cost reporting, and supporting estimating activities across a varied portfolio of high-quality projects.

    The ideal candidate will have Quantity Surveying experience within construction, preferably residential or bespoke projects. You will be commercially aware, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of your workload while contributing to the wider success of the business.

    The Role - Responsibilities
    * Managing project costs from tender through to final account
    * Working on High end Residential Projects
    * Managing variations and contract administration
    * Supporting estimating and procurement activities

    The Person - Requirements
    * Quantity Surveying experience within construction
    * Residential, bespoke housing, or refurbishment experience preferred
    * Knowledge of JCT contracts and subcontract management
    * Experience with valuations, variations, and cost reporting
    * Ambitious and looking to progress within a growing business
