How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working remotely from home and engaging directly with customers across the UK, this Sales Engineer role offers the chance to influence major digital transformation programmes while working alongside some of the industry's most talented technical and commercial professionals.

Why This Sales Engineer Opportunity Stands Out

As a Sales Engineer, you'll become a trusted advisor to government stakeholders, helping customers gain unprecedented visibility across their digital ecosystems, improve performance, strengthen security, and accelerate innovation.

    This Sales Engineer position offers:

    ✅ £90,000–£120,000 base salary

    ✅ Performance bonus

    ✅ Car allowance

    ✅ Extensive benefits package

    ✅ Fully remote working arrangement

✅ Exposure to high-profile UK Public Sector projects

✅ The opportunity to shape product direction and influence future innovation

    The Role: Sales Engineer

As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role throughout the entire customer journey.

You'll lead technical discovery sessions, design compelling solutions, demonstrate product value, support proof-of-concepts, contribute to RFP responses, and help customers solve real-world operational and security challenges. The successful Sales Engineer will work closely with sales leadership, engineering teams, product specialists, system integrators, service providers, and Government stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Leading technical discovery and presales engagements

    * Acting as the primary technical authority during the sales cycle

    * Delivering compelling demonstrations and value-driven presentations

    * Supporting Proof of Concepts and customer evaluations

    * Building trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders

    * Contributing to technical documentation, whitepapers, and bid responses

    * Influencing product strategy through market and customer feedback

    * Identifying growth and expansion opportunities within existing accounts

    * Representing the organisation at industry events and strategic engagements

What We're Looking For in a Sales Engineer

We're seeking a highly capable Sales Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional communication and commercial awareness.

The ideal Sales Engineer will bring:

    * 5+ years within IT environments

    * Experience in presales, network engineering, or technical support

    * Proven success supporting UK Government or Public Sector customers

    * Active SC Clearance

    * The ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers and C-Suite stakeholders

    * Strong networking expertise across Cisco technologies, TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, VoIP, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and security architecture

    * Knowledge of Linux, Windows, cloud technologies, SDN/NFV, and virtualised environments

    * Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE

    * A consultative approach focused on business value and customer outcomes

The Ideal Sales Engineer Will Also Have

Experience with packet analysis, performance monitoring, cybersecurity concepts, network assurance, and technologies such as Riverbed, ExtraHop, Arbor, A10, Wireshark, or Zeek will be highly advantageous. Exposure to security frameworks including NIST and ISO 27001 is also welcomed.

This Sales Engineer role is officially home-based within the UK, although regular customer engagement is a key part of the position.

The successful Sales Engineer should be comfortable with:

    * Frequent customer meetings across the UK

    * Approximately 60–70% travel

    * Annual conferences and quarterly Sales Engineer conventions

Candidates based in Central or Southern England are particularly encouraged to apply, although exceptional candidates from Northern England will also be considered
