Legal Counsel
Our client is a fast-growing, design-led business operating in the workplace and real estate sector, with a significant UK footprint and ambitious growth plans. Backed by major institutional investors, the organisation is redefining how modern workspaces are designed, experienced, and operated.
They are now seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join their London-based team.
Key Purpose
To provide practical, commercially focused legal support across the business, working closely with multiple functions including operations, sales, finance, and development.
This role supports day-to-day legal needs while helping to build capability in contracting, risk management, and governance within a fast-paced, asset-heavy organisation.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice across a broad range of commercial and operational matters affecting the business
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including customer agreements, supplier contracts, and operational arrangements
- Support real estate and asset management matters, including transactions and related documentation
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure legal input is embedded in key business activities
- Assist with contract risk assessment, issue-spotting, and escalation of material legal risks
- Support business initiatives, projects, and transformation activities from a legal perspective
- Contribute to legal and compliance initiatives, including governance, policies, and risk frameworks
- Maintain and improve legal templates, playbooks, and internal guidance materials
- Support dispute management and debt recovery processes where required
- Manage and coordinate external counsel, ensuring cost-effective and commercially aligned advice
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance legal processes and efficiency
Scope and Complexity
- Operates with guidance from senior lawyers while taking ownership of day-to-day legal matters
- Exposure to a broad mix of work within a scaling, multi-site business

Qualifications/Experience
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with approximately 2+ years’ PQE
- Background in commercial and/or corporate law, with exposure to at least one additional area (e.g. Real estate, construction, disputes, or employment)
- Experience gained within a reputable law firm, with some in-house exposure (including secondment) preferred
- Familiarity with intellectual property and/or data protection is advantageous but not essential
- Strong commercial awareness and interest in working within a fast-paced business environment
Working Pattern
- Based in Central London, with an expectation of 4 days per week in the office
- Collaborative, in-person culture with close interaction across business teams
