Investment Banking Professional (Emerging Markets)
We are seeking a talented, driven and analytically minded investment banking professional with 2–3 years of relevant experience to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team.
Working directly alongside senior transaction professionals, the successful candidate will play an active role in the origination, structuring and execution of debt and equity capital raising, project finance and strategic advisory transactions across Africa and other emerging markets, with a particular focus on infrastructure, energy and development-related investments.
The role offers direct exposure to corporates, project sponsors, investors, lenders, development finance institutions and government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the origination, structuring and execution of debt and equity capital raising transactions.
- Assist in the delivery of project finance, infrastructure finance and strategic advisory mandates.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate financing structures, investment opportunities and transaction outcomes.
- Conduct financial analysis, scenario modelling and sensitivity testing.
- Prepare investor presentations, financing memoranda, investment papers and other transaction-related materials.
- Support due diligence processes and transaction execution activities.
- Conduct company, sector, market and macroeconomic research to support client mandates and transaction execution.
- Support cross-border transactions involving corporates, project sponsors, governments and development finance institutions.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, client engagement activities and the assessment of new transaction opportunities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- CFA Charterholder, CFA candidate, CA(SA), ACA, ACCA, MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification advantageous.
- 2–3 years' experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, project finance, infrastructure finance or a related transaction-focused environment.
- Experience supporting debt and/or equity capital raising, financing or advisory transactions across Africa and/or other emerging markets.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Experience preparing investor presentations, financing memoranda, investment papers or other transaction documentation.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
