Global Accounting Network is partnering with a well-established Architecture firm with turnover exceeding £70m to recruit a Financial Accountant on a 9-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting audit requirements, and providing financial insight across a growing international business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and relevant accounting standards.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
- Support the annual external audit process.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance.
- Support financial reporting across international entities, including Middle East operations.
- Analyse financial and project performance data to support business decision-making.
- Partner with project managers and stakeholders across the business.
- Drive improvements to financial processes, systems and internal controls.
Candidate Profile
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent professional experience with strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Experience within a professional services environment is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
- Experience working within multi-entity and/or multi-currency businesses.
- Confident using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative approach.
