Management and Financial Accounting – FTC or Perm - £60,000 – North West London – 5 days a week in the office - Short notice period (1 month and under) required
A growing SME have recently restructured, which has led to an opening for a Management Accountant to join the team. You will take responsibility for a variety of tasks and report to the Financial Controller. The company is growing, so there is a need to be adaptable as it is rapidly changing.
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop quickly. The finance team has promoted people internally and is looking for someone who wants to develop their career.
You are likely to start on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract with a view to converting to permanent. You can also be permanent from the outset.
You will be working in the office 5 days a week.
There is an opportunity to be involved in projects and systems changes as well as BAU. This role will be vital to shaping the finance team as they grow.
Your responsibilities
The main purpose of the role will include the production of the management and financial accounts:
- Produce monthly management accounts
- Variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare financial statements
- Manage month‑end processes.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, and assist with audits.
- Maintain financial controls
- Drive process and systems improvements.
- Seek ways to increase efficiency and automate tasks
Knowledge & experience:
- Qualified accountant - ACA/CA/ACCA
- You can be from practice and seeking your first role in industry or you can be industry trained from any sector, ideally with a background in SME companies.
- Confident with Excel and accounting systems.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Deliver process improvements and identify opportunities to make repetitive tasks more efficient
