How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As such, the glass industry is an exciting and sustainable business to work in and be part of.

We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed individuals to work as Production Line Operatives within our Finished Goods Product Department at our West Yorkshire site based in Knottingley. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the main purpose of this role is to visually inspect glass containers and ensure that packed ware meets all Company and customer specifications and requirements.

Duties will include, but are not limited to: -

    • To visually inspect containers, passing good ware and rejecting faulty ware at a viewing screen or whilst hand packing on the production line.

    • To undertake the safe and effective use of automatic and semi-automatic handling equipment.

    • To effectively communicate when ware fails to meet Company and customer specification and requirements.

Ideally, applicants will possess some understanding of glass container faults, however, this is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidates. A keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels is also essential for this role.

A 5‑crew rotating shift pattern offering 12‑hour day and night shifts, with structured blocks of work followed by regular extended rest periods. This provides a predictable rota with built‑in recovery time while supporting a 24/7 operation.

Successful candidates can benefit from the following:-

    • Fantastic career progression opportunities for the right individuals.
    • Job stability within a growing sustainable industry

    • Generous holiday entitlement.
    • The site benefits from easy motorway access and provides free onsite parking.

This is an exciting time to join a successful team, make an impact and be a proud part of the future journey of the organisation.
