How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Marine Electrician (Offshore) Are you a Marine Electrician looking for your next opportunity? Do you have offshore experience, a time-served apprenticeship, and strong AC/DC and LV electrical knowledge? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

    Our client, a well-established offshore services company, is seeking a Marine Electrician to join their team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background, experience working within marine or industrial environments, and the ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a wide range of AC/DC and LV electrical systems.

    Marine Electrician (Offshore) Job Description • Carry out installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of AC/DC and LV marine electrical systems and equipment
    • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on offshore and marine assets
    • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and compliance
    • Install, terminate, and test electrical cabling, switchboards, control panels, motors, generators, and associated equipment
    • Conduct inspection, testing, and commissioning of AC/DC and LV electrical systems
    • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
    • Support commissioning, upgrades, and modification projects on electrical systems
    • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with offshore, marine, and electrical industry standards
    • Liaise with clients, vessel crews, and internal departments to deliver projects effectively
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and certification documentation
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices

    Marine Electrician (Offshore) Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications • Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
    • Minimum 5 years' experience within the electrical or marine industry
    • Experience working with AC/DC and LV electrical systems within marine, offshore, industrial, or heavy engineering environments
    • Strong fault-finding, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with motors, generators, switchboards, control panels, and distribution systems
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
    • Experience with electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning activities
    • Good understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements within offshore environments
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
