How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This role will focus on developing and delivering high-quality design solutions for clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working closely with project managers, operational teams, clients, and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring designs are technically robust, compliant with industry regulations, and delivered in line with project requirements.

This position would suit an individual with experience in utility, civil, or water engineering design who is looking to contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced project environment.

    Key Responsibilities

Review project scopes, modelling information, and supporting documentation.
Produce and maintain Health & Safety files throughout all project stages, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 requirements.
Manage technical queries and design submissions through project management systems.
Maintain drawing registers and associated project documentation.
Coordinate pre-design meetings and design sign-off meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal design teams, client representatives, and external consultants to deliver project objectives.
Produce private land drawings, including land referencing and statutory notice plans.
Prepare site investigation drawings, including trial hole, coupon cut, and sample cut information.
Develop overview drawings using site investigation data.
Produce detailed design and as-laid drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with industry and client standards.
Identify and communicate significant design risks, hazards, or scope changes to project teams.
Facilitate internal design review meetings with project and operational stakeholders.
Support and mentor junior team members while assisting with workload coordination.
Review and complete redline mark-ups of as-laid drawings.
Request and review statutory utility plans and records.
Produce weekly design reports and present project updates to management.
    Skills & Experience

Previous experience working within the water, wastewater, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.
Strong understanding of engineering specifications and standards relevant to water infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and associated design responsibilities.
    Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent).
Experience producing clean water and wastewater network designs.
Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers and designers.
    What's on Offer

    Competitive salary dependent on experience.
    Comprehensive benefits package.
Opportunity to work on major UK utility infrastructure projects.
    Career development and progression opportunities.
    Supportive and collaborative working environment.
