How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Planner - Water AMP 8 - Outside IR35

    Location: Manchester (Flexible Hybrid)
    Work Type: Full-time Contract - Outside IR35
    Duration: 6 months

    We are seeking an experienced Planner to support the delivery of a major water sector framework. This role involves managing multiple project programmes, ensuring efficient planning, clear visibility, and successful project delivery across all stages of the lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and manage detailed construction programmes across multiple ongoing projects.
    Coordinate schedules to align with framework objectives and key milestones.
    Produce integrated plans covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
    Monitor progress against baselines, updating programmes to reflect changes and performance.
    Conduct critical path analysis to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities.
    Prepare regular reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
    Assess programme impacts resulting from delays, scope changes, or unforeseen events.
    Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure realistic delivery plans.
    Communicate programme updates and impacts clearly across all levels.

    Requirements

    Proven experience as a Construction Planner within infrastructure or water sector projects.
    Strong background managing multiple projects within a framework or portfolio environment.
    Expertise in planning tools, particularly Primavera P6, and strong Excel/reporting skills.
    Solid understanding of project lifecycle stages and Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
    Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
    Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
    Desirable: Experience with water utility frameworks or AMP programmes, relevant qualifications, and professional membership (e.g., APM or CIOB)
