How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are working with a leading and well established food and drink business to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing sales team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially strong and relationship-driven sales professional to take ownership of a defined territory and make a real impact on business growth.

This role would suit a confident field-based sales professional with a proven background in winning new business, developing accounts and delivering strong margin growth. You’ll be joining an ambitious, customer focused business with a strong reputation and a collaborative culture.

    Role Overview

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing a Yorkshire territory, identifying new opportunities and building long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.

You will work closely with internal teams to maximise sales, grow margin and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    *

Proactively generating new business across your territory.

    *

Managing and growing an existing customer base.

    *

Delivering against sales and margin targets.

    *

Building and maintaining a healthy prospect pipeline.

    *

Planning your own territory activity and customer visits.

    *

Working collaboratively with internal teams to support campaigns and service delivery.

    *

Maintaining accurate CRM activity, reporting and administration.

    Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who is commercially sharp, self-motivated and confident working in a field-based environment. You will ideally have experience within foodservice, food, drink or a similar sector, along with a strong track record in business development and account management.

    You will also need:

    *

    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

    *

    A customer-focused and professional approach.

    *

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

    *

The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

    *

    Strong IT and administrative skills.

    *

    A full UK driving licence.

    Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business where your contribution will be recognised and valued. You will be part of a supportive team, with the autonomy to manage your territory and the opportunity to grow your career within a successful and ambitious organisation.

If you are a driven sales professional looking for your next challenge in the food and drink sector, we would love to hear from you.
