How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are working with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering essential utility and water projects across the South East. Due to continued growth and internal progression, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of projects within the water sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Project Manager or a strong Site Agent looking to take the next step in their career.

    The Role

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects across water and utility infrastructure schemes, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Projects typically involve:

    Water infrastructure and utility works

    Large diameter pipework installation

    Network improvements and upgrades

    Civil engineering works

    Trenchless and tunnelling activities

    Associated structures and infrastructure works

Initially, you will take responsibility for two to three live projects, with project allocation tailored to your level of experience.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage the delivery of multiple projects from inception through to completion.

Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Oversee site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement.

Monitor project performance, programme and commercial outcomes.

Work closely with commercial and planning teams to maximise project success.

Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements.

Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across projects.

    About You

Experience within heavy civil engineering, utilities or water infrastructure projects.

Previous experience as a Project Manager or a Senior Site Agent/Site Agent looking to progress.

    Strong understanding of NEC contracts.

Good commercial awareness and programme management experience.

Experience managing multiple stakeholders and project teams.

    Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to work across several projects simultaneously.

Water industry experience is highly desirable.

    What's on Offer?

    Salary of £80,000 - £85,000.

Attractive package including car allowance and benefits.

Clear career progression opportunities within a growing business.

Exposure to major infrastructure and water projects.

Long-term secured workload across the Thames Water region.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering critical infrastructure projects and play a key role in the successful delivery of major water and utilities schemes across the South East
