How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Unqualified Maths Teacher - Northampton

    Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)
    Salary: £100-£160 per day (depending on experience and level of school support)

    Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for Maths graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who are looking to take their first steps into the classroom.

    Your Role:

    Deliver pre-planned Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

    Support students in developing confidence, fluency, and problem-solving skills in Mathematics

    Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment

    Adapt your approach to support learners of varying abilities

    Work closely with experienced teachers and senior staff to develop your classroom practice

    Contribute to the wider school community and ongoing professional development opportunities

    What We're Looking For:

    A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or strong demonstrable Maths knowledge

    Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth work) is beneficial but not essential

    Confident communication skills and the ability to lead a classroom effectively

    A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach to work

    A genuine interest in education and developing into a teaching role

    Ideal for candidates considering routes into teaching such as PGCE, SCITT, or school-based training programmes

    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
