How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maths Teacher - Northampton

    Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Permanent Role Preferred | Fixed-Term and Long-Term Supply Considered

    Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a successful secondary school in Northampton that is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher from September 2026. The school would ideally appoint on a permanent basis; however, applications from candidates interested in fixed-term or long-term supply roles will also be considered.

    The Role:

    Deliver engaging and well-planned Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

    Opportunity to teach A-Level Mathematics, depending on experience

    Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities

    Monitor, assess, and support student progress through clear and effective feedback

    Work collaboratively within a dedicated and supportive Maths department

    Contribute to wider school activities including interventions, revision sessions, and enrichment opportunities

    The Ideal Candidate:

    Holds QTS/QTLS (or equivalent) with a specialism in Mathematics

    Confident delivering the Maths curriculum, including GCSE content

    Passionate about making Mathematics accessible, engaging, and meaningful

    Committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential

    A positive, reliable team player who contributes to school life

    Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are very welcome to apply, with strong mentoring and induction support available.
