We're looking for a Senior Prosecutions Lawyer to join our Legal Services team and play a key role in managing complex criminal and regulatory enforcement matters across our business
.This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases involving environmental law, regulatory compliance, and criminal proceedings, while helping to shape legal strategy within one of the UK's largest regulated utilities.
What you'll be doing:
Managing prosecution and regulatory enforcement matters from investigation through to conclusion
Representing the business in Magistrates' Courts and, where required, Crown Courts
Advising senior stakeholders on criminal, environmental, and regulatory matters
Working closely with regulators including the Environment Agency and other enforcement bodies
Supporting legal risk management and regulatory compliance initiatives
Mentoring colleagues and contributing to the development of legal best practice across the business
What we're looking for:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX professional
Significant post-qualification experience in criminal law, prosecutions, defence, or regulatory enforcement Court advocacy experience in criminal matters
Strong understanding of environmental and regulatory law
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
