How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    As Property Counsel (Acquisitions), you’ll play a hands-on role at the heart of the legal property function, helping to keep Cornerstone’s estate moving forward. From securing new sites and negotiating renewals to supporting upgrades, alterations, and key statutory processes, you’ll be involved in a varied mix of property transactions that directly protect and strengthen the business’s portfolio. You’ll also have the chance to shape how the legal function works behind the scenes—managing legal suppliers, keeping a close eye on budgets, and finding smarter, more efficient ways to improve processes. Alongside this, you’ll provide focused legal support to the Acquisitions project, becoming a trusted partner in helping it deliver at pace

    What You’ll Do

    📍 Manage a busy caseload of acquisition transactions and legal escalations.

    📜 Support lease work, renewals, notices and statutory processes⚖️ Advise on Code and Landlord & Tenant matters to unlock challenging sites.

    🤝 Work closely with legal suppliers and acquisition teams to keep matters moving

    📊 Track milestones, update systems and report on progress clearly

    💼 Help manage supplier performance, spend and day-to-day legal support.

    🛠️ Improve ways of working across legal processes and supplier management.

    🌟 Support the wider Legal & Compliance team with training, meetings and collaboration.


    What You’ll Bring

    🎓 A qualified solicitor with strong experience in commercial propertylaw.

    🏢 Solid grounding in commercial conveyancing, landlord and tenant matters, and property transactions.

    ⚖️ Good knowledge of the Electronic Communications Code and LTA1954.

    💼 Experience working in a fast-paced in-house team or with in-house clients.

    🔍 A sharp eye for detail, paired with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.

    🤝 Confident building strong relationships and working collaboratively across teams.

    💬 Clear communication skills, with the ability to give practical and commercially focused advice.🚀 Comfortable making decisions, spotting improvements, and helping drive change.
