How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role: Recruitment Consultant (Hospitality Sector)

    Are you passionate about the hospitality industry but ready for a new challenge away from the exhausting late nights and split shifts.

    We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and people-focused individual to join our amazing Hospitality Team at Select as a Recruitment Consultant.

    In this role, you will use your industry knowledge to connect brilliant hospitality talent with fantastic clients. You will be part of a friendly, highly experienced team where collaboration, communication, and exceptional service are at the heart of everything we do.

    As a Recruitment Consultant, no two days are the same. You will be managing the end-to-end recruitment process, including:

    Candidate Sourcing & Management: Attracting, interviewing, and building strong relationships with hospitality professionals to help them find their next roles.
    Client Relationship Building: Partnering with local hospitality businesses (hotels, restaurants, bars, and events venues) to understand their staffing needs and deliver excellent service.
    Operations Support: Juggling multiple fast-paced vacancies, matching the right candidates to the right shifts or permanent roles with confidence and efficiency.
    Team Collaboration: Working closely with your colleagues to ensure smooth operations behind the scenes.
    On-Call Support: Taking part in our rotating on-call duty schedule (shared fairly across the team) to support our clients and temporary workers when needed.

    A Hospitality Background: You’ve worked in bars, restaurants, hotels, or events. You understand the pace, energy, and unique challenges of the industry!
