How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they may face. We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school where you'll play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive behaviours that enable them to engage fully in their education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with young people who need additional guidance and encouragement, helping them build the skills necessary to thrive both academically and personally. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and families, you will provide targeted support that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Whether you have experience within education, youth work, social care or mentoring, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional or social needs.

    * Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and participation.

    * Support the implementation of behaviour management plans and intervention strategies.

    * Promote positive behaviour, attendance and wellbeing throughout the school day.

    * Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and senior leaders to support pupil progress.

    * Monitor and record behavioural developments and report concerns where appropriate.

    * Assist in managing challenging situations using positive behaviour support techniques.

    * Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes and other school activities as required.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience working with children or young people.

    * Strong behaviour management and conflict-resolution skills.

    * Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.

    * Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

    * Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
