How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Warrington (hybrid)

Shape the Future of Water Infrastructure

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading engineering and infrastructure delivery business working on major water and wastewater capital projects across the North West.

This is a chance to play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure schemes that directly impact communities, environmental sustainability, and the future resilience of the UK's water networks. You'll join a highly skilled team delivering multidisciplinary design and build projects, where commercial excellence, collaboration, and innovation are at the heart of everything they do.
If you're looking for a role where your expertise will make a genuine difference while offering long-term career development and exposure to high-value projects, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Opportunity
Working as part of a growing commercial team, you will support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater capital projects. You will be responsible for ensuring robust commercial management throughout the project lifecycle, helping to protect margins, manage risk, and drive successful project outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and senior commercial leaders while contributing to some of the region's most important infrastructure programmes.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare, submit and agree valuations, variations, final accounts and payment certificates.
    • Ensure all contractual notices are issued accurately and within required timescales.
    • Complete quantity take-offs and monitor drawing revisions and scope changes.
    • Track subcontractor and labour costs to maintain effective commercial control.
    • Assist with risk management and cost forecasting across multiple projects.
    • Support the procurement process, including subcontract tendering and order placement.
    • Monitor material purchases and expenditure against project allowances.
    • Deliver commercial performance in line with agreed project margins and objectives.
    • Provide timely reporting on commercial risks, opportunities and cost issues.
    • Support the wider commercial team with all aspects of quantity surveying and contract administration.

    About You
We're looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment and thrives on delivering successful infrastructure projects.

    You will ideally have:
    • A minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience and/or a relevant professional qualification.
    • Strong experience working under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
    • Experience working as either a Contractor to Client or Subcontractor to Main Contractor.
    • Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
    • Flexibility to work in a site-based role and support projects across the North West region.

    Desirable Experience
    • Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (ME&I) project experience.
    • Experience using Oracle-based commercial systems.
    • Previous experience within the water, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.

    Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK. You'll work alongside experienced professionals on technically challenging schemes while benefiting from genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development.

    Benefits Include
    • Competitive salary package
    • Company pension scheme
    • Private healthcare
    • Death in service benefit
    • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    • Option to purchase up to 5 additional days holiday
    • Employee rewards and discounts platform
    • Employee Assistance Programme
    • Overtime opportunities
    • Recommend-a-friend bonus scheme
    • Ongoing training and career development opportunities
