About the role:
Position: Food Production Operative / Cook at Sodexo,RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, OX18 3LX.
As a Cook in a café or digital food operation, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food efficiently in a fast-paced environment.This role involves preparing and cooking pre-ordered meals, ensuring consistency, presentation, and food safety standards are met.You will play a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations while supporting a modern, technology-driven service model.
What you’ll do:
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of food items in line with recipe cards and cooking methods
Manage and fulfil all orders
Ensure food is prepared quickly and accurately to meet service time targets
Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, and ensure proper storage following food safety regulations
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and food preparation areas
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures
Minimise food waste and control portion sizes to maintain cost efficiency
Assist with deliveries, checking quality and storing stock correctly
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Maintain kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance issues promptlyWhat we’re looking for:
Essential:
Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level
One of the following qualifications (or equivalent):
BSc (Catering)
MHCIM
HND
City & Guilds 706/1 and 2
NVQ Level 2 or 3
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely
Desirable:
Experience working within a military environment
IOSH qualification (or equivalent)
Experience in a customer-facing role
CIEH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
