How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Full-Time | Immediate Start (22nd June) | £100–£115 per day PAYE

    Rising Hope Education is seeking a compassionate, skilled and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil on a full-time 1:1 basis at a welcoming primary school in Barking.

    This position will begin on 22nd June, continue for the remainder of the current academic year and then continue full-time throughout the entire 2026/27 academic year.

    About the Pupil

    The pupil is a 7-year-old boy in Year 3 with diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD.

    He presents with significant needs in:

    * Communication and language development

    * Attention and engagement

    * Social interaction

    * Emotional regulation

    * Safety awareness

    He demonstrates strengths in memory, early literacy and numeracy, and responds particularly well to interest-led learning and positive relationships.

    The successful candidate will provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping him remain regulated, safe, engaged, and able to access learning opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day

    * Deliver highly structured learning activities and interventions

    * Support communication using visual aids and simplified language

    * Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and environments

    * Support emotional regulation through calm, consistent co-regulation strategies

    * Implement visual timetables, Now/Next boards, and structured routines

    * Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs, therapists, and parents where appropriate

    * Support sensory needs through planned movement and sensory breaks

    * Ensure the pupil's safety and wellbeing at all times

    * Assist with personal care and intimate care where required

    Essential Experience & Skills

    We are looking for candidates who have:

    ✔ Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)

    ✔ Previous experience providing 1:1 support within a school, specialist provision, or SEND setting

    ✔ Understanding of behaviour as communication and supporting emotional dysregulation

    ✔ Experience delivering structured interventions such as:

    * Attention Autism

    * Bucket Time

    * Intensive Interaction

    * Similar communication and engagement programmes

    ✔ Familiarity with:

    * TEACCH approaches

    * Visual timetables

    * Now/Next boards

    * Structured workstations

    ✔ Understanding of SCERTS, PECS, total communication approaches, or objects of reference

    ✔ Strong communication skills and ability to adapt language appropriately

    ✔ A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

    ✔ The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable children

    Desirable Qualifications

    Team Teach training

    Autism-specific training

    Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

    Relevant SEND qualifications

    First Aid training
