How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Rooted in Care. Giving change a chance.
    At Arbour Healthcare Group, we provide specialist residential care for children and young people who need safe, consistent and emotionally available adults around them.
    We support young people with complex needs, including learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural needs, trauma histories and experiences that may have shaped how they see themselves, others and the world around them.
    Our work is not about simply managing behaviour. It is about understanding what sits behind it, building trust, creating safety and helping young people believe that change is possible.
    We are now recruiting Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our specialist solo and dual-occupancy homes.
    This is a role for people who can show up with patience, resilience and purpose. The work can be challenging, but it can also be incredibly meaningful. You will be part of a team that helps young people feel seen, heard, safe and supported.
    About the role
    As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will support young people in their day-to-day lives, helping to create a safe, nurturing and structured home environment.
    You will support routines, activities, emotional regulation, independence skills, positive relationships, safeguarding and professional recording.
    This is not a role where you can sit back and simply observe. Our young people need adults who are present, calm, reliable and willing to keep showing up, even after difficult days.
    You will work as part of a wider team to provide consistent care in line with each young person’s care plan, risk assessment and individual needs.
    Shift patterns
    We currently have roles available on the following rota patterns:
    * 2 days on / 4 days off
    * 2 days on / 2 days off
    You will be expected to work as part of a residential rota, which may include long days, evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties where required by the service.
    What you will be doing
    * Providing high-quality, person-centred care to children and young people
    * Creating a safe, structured and nurturing home environment
    * Supporting young people with daily routines, activities and emotional wellbeing
    * Responding calmly and professionally to challenging situations
    * Following safeguarding procedures and escalating concerns appropriately
    * Completing accurate records, daily logs, observations and incident reports
    * Supporting young people to build confidence, independence and life skills
    * Promoting dignity, privacy, respect and choice
    * Working closely with colleagues, managers and external professionals
    * Supporting the delivery of our RESET Care Model: Reassure, Empower, Support, Educate and Transition
    What we are looking for
    We are looking for people who are caring, resilient, reliable and willing to learn.
    You may already have experience in children’s residential care, support work, youth work, education, mental health, learning disabilities, complex needs or similar settings.
    Previous experience in a children’s residential home is desirable, but not essential for the right person.
    The ideal candidate will have:
    * The ability to remain calm and confident in challenging situations
    * An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
    * A caring, consistent and child-centred approach
    * Good communication and recording skills
    * A willingness to learn about trauma-informed care, PACE, therapeutic approaches and positive behaviour support
    * The confidence to use initiative while working safely within care plans, risk assessments and company procedures
    * A professional attitude and the ability to be a positive role model
    * A genuine commitment to supporting young people to make progress
    * A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is desirable
    What makes Arbour Healthcare Group different?
    At Arbour Healthcare Group, our work is centred around one clear mission: Rooted in Care. Giving Change a Chance.
    We believe every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, safe and supported.
    Our RESET Care Model helps us provide care that is consistent, trauma-informed and built around human connection. It focuses on reassurance, empowerment, support, education and transition.
    We do not just look at behaviour. We look at the young person behind the behaviour.
    We want staff who can bring warmth, boundaries, patience and resilience into the home. The work is not always easy, but when it is done properly, it can change lives.
    Why join us?
    * Competitive pay rate of £14.00 per hour
    * Permanent role with clear rota patterns
    * Ongoing training and development
    * Opportunity to progress within the organisation
    * Supportive team and leadership structure
    * Meals and essentials provided while on shift
    * Company pension
    * Employee discount
    Inclusive employer
    We are proud to be an inclusive employer and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
    Work authorisation - United Kingdom required

    If you want a role where your presence matters, your resilience is valued and your work can genuinely help change the direction of a young person’s life, we would like to hear from you.
