How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrician (Brand New In-House Role)

    Maidenhead & Reading, Berkshire

    £38,316 - £42,152 + Company Vehicle + Local Government Pension Scheme (15% Employer Contribution) + 29 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Overtime + Long-Term Stability

Are you a qualified Electrician looking for a role where you can take ownership, work independently, and genuinely make a difference?

Do you want to become the first in-house Electrical specialist for a growing Trust, helping create safe, high-quality environments for children and young people with Special Educational Needs?

This is a rare opportunity to join a newly formed Multi-Academy Trust that is bringing its Estates function in-house for the first time. Rather than outsourcing work to contractors, the Trust is investing in building its own specialist team, giving you the opportunity to become the go-to Electrical expert across the organisation.

The Trust currently consists of three specialist SEN schools across five sites in Maidenhead, Tilehurst and Woodley. Supporting children and young people aged 2-19, their mission is simple: create safe, supportive environments where every student can thrive. With plans to expand further in the coming years, this is an opportunity to join at an exciting stage of growth and help shape the future of the Estates function.

In this role, you'll take ownership of all electrical maintenance, repairs, testing, fault-finding and installation work across the Trust's sites. This isn't a role where you'll be micromanaged or handed a daily job sheet. You'll be trusted as the Electrical specialist, identifying issues, prioritising work and delivering solutions that directly support students, staff and the wider organisation.

This role would suit a qualified Electrician from a commercial, facilities, education, healthcare or maintenance background who is looking for long-term stability, genuine autonomy and the opportunity to be part of something being built from the ground up.

The organisation offers an excellent benefits package, including a works vehicle, Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday allowance and a supportive, values-driven culture centred around collaboration, inclusion and making a positive difference.

    The Role

*Electrical maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations across five sites
*Emergency lighting testing, inspections and remedial works
*Carry out testing, compliance and electrical safety activities
*Work across Maidenhead, Tilehurst and Woodley sites
    *Company vehicle provided
*Brand new role within a newly formed Estates Team
    *Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week
*Overtime available at enhanced rates when required
    The Person

*NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
    *18th Edition Wiring Regulations
*Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
*Commercial maintenance, facilities or electrical installation experience
    *Full UK Driving Licence
    *ECS Gold Card desirable
*Comfortable working within an SEN education environment
*Looking for a long-term role with autonomy and ownership
